It’s National Coffee Day today — a sacred holiday for coffee guzzling, caffeine addicted Americans. So how am I celebrating? By stocking up on bottomless coffee at work, of course. Recently, I started working at a fantastic new Italian restaurant in Madison, and one of the things that makes it so wonderful, (aside from the incredible homemade pasta and the lovely waitstaff), is that they get their coffee from Colectivo, one of the best local coffee roasters around.
As a server, I take full advantage of my duty to keep the coffee urns full, and I test each new batch before, during, and after my shift. I’m even drinking some right now (my eighth cup today), while I quickly write this from my phone while folding napkins between shifts.
There’s not much time to write today, and this post doesn’t give coffee the full attention it deserves, but on today of all days I couldn’t go without wishing you a happy Coffee Monday, and more importantly a happy National Coffee Day! So drink up, and don’t forget to tip your waitresses. 😉
