Welcome to Things I Love, a roundup of some of my favorite things from throughout the week, including a special travel deal just for readers!
It’s that time of year. Holiday parties, festive cocktails, shiny presents, twinkling lights, endless sweets, bell ringing, and general merriment all around. This past week has been full of holiday festivities for me, starting with a party hosted by Breanna of The Crafty Coin, followed by a cupcake decorating session with Grandbaby Cakes, and finally the Windy City Blogger Collective holiday party.
The end of the year is so hectic trying to get everything done in order to start the new year off fresh. I’ve been focused on Newsroom Communications, my company and day job when not blogging (hire us!), and reading up on productivity and accounting habits to get motivated for next year.
I’ve also been running around like crazy trying to find the perfect Christmas gifts. Still looking? Check out the ultimate list for travelers here.
To calm the stress and not feel guilty about eating my weight in cookies and eggnog, which will happen next week, I treated myself to a gym membership with FFC. I’m impressed by the number of classes available, and realllly love the sauna and steam room now that it’s cold in Chicago.
Articles that made me smile this week include this one on Malcolm Gladwell and his array of snappy book blurbs, this one on heli-skiing, which sounds terrifying but also exhilarating, this one on the true (embarrassing) meaning of Festivus from ‘Seinfeld’ writers, and this one about the FDA proposing a ban on tanning beds for minors.

Blog crush of the week: Public Lives, Secret Recipes.
Book I’m reading: The Sweetness of Life. One of my favorite books to pick up from time to time. Beautifully written and an ode to minuscule moments that make life worth living.
Travel product I’m loving: The Litebook Edge – the most advanced jet leg cure out there. Traveling far for the holidays? You probably want to bring this.
Quote I’m thinking about (from the greatest holiday movie of all time):
And finally, the travel deals of the week! Use the link below to get up to 53% off gift sets at AHAVA. I lived in Jordan for awhile and was spoiled by the Dead Sea, and this is my way of getting all its mineral goodness while at home.
Use SHIPEXPRESS to receive free express shipping (yes, in time for Christmas), at the New York Times store.
Lastly, have you guys heard of Rocksbox? It’s like Rent the Runway, but for designer jewelry. Use the code REBECCABFF455 to get your first month free!
I’ll be heading to Wisconsin in a few days for Christmas. Where are the holidays taking you? Let me know and stay in touch!
Have a festive weekend!
